Penguins are aquatic, flightless birds, this means they live mostly on water and they are unable to fly like most birds. As stated before, penguins are aquatic birds, thus to fit their lifestyle, they develop flippers instead of wings and countershaded black-white colored feather, this means their belly is white colored while their back is black colored, this is used as a method of camouflage when they swim.

The largest penguin species that still exists today is the Emperor Penguin, they can grow up to 1,2 meters high and weigh up to 40 kilograms. While the smallest penguin is the Fairy Penguin, they grow as small as 40 centimeters and weighs 35 kilograms.

Contrary to popular belief, penguins does not live on the north pole (the Arctic), they only live on the south pole (the Antarctic), even then, they only live on the outskirts of the south pole, near the shore; it is rare to see any living being on the center of the south pole.
